ABOUT OUR CLUB…

West Side Caravanners Inc. is one of the longest operating caravan clubs in the Perth area, having been established in 1971 (40 years ago).  The club is also one of the three largest affiliated with the Association.

West Side Caravanners – is a mix of ages hovering mainly in the 60 to 70 year old group but with a few above and a few below.

A few widowed ladies continue to “keep on caravanning” despite losing their partners.

Club Membership is always welcome from new caravanners or motorhome owners, because it is an activity that everybody enjoys and benefits from the injection of new blood.

Prospective members are invited to attend two rallies to get the feel of how the club operates and assess its members. Members travel independently and meet at the rally destination.

The Club uses a mix of sites for its rally destinations, from caravan parks with full facilities to a few places where no power is available, i.e. a sports ground or similar.

Rallies usually officially start on Fridays (for workers) or if desired, retired members often go a day or two early.  The Rally closes on the Sunday. There is a rally every month.  Club rules DO NOT allow pets to come on rallies.

MEMBERSHIP FEES

  • Annual membership: $55 per van
  • Nomination fee $65 per van
  • Club shirt:  $40 per person.

The Club holds its Annual General Meeting in August each year at which all Office positions become vacant.  The club constitution limits the number of members to 80, however with associate members this figure is closer to 75 vans, and surprisingly, the average number of vans at a rally is between 25 – 35.

A monthly newsletter is posted to each member.

Ring our Secretary now and have a talk about checking us out, and hopefully joining us.
